Ever heard of VVS? It refers to ‘Vertical Video Syndrome’, possibly one of the serious ‘problems’ we encounter in contemporary memory practices.
Nowadays, a lot of home movies have been recorded by mobile smart phone devices which have a video function. The result is often a clip recorded in the ‘portrait’ or ‘vertical’ stand – as opposite to ‘landscape’ and ‘horizontal’:
